Something Silly

Lisa
, 34, laughs as she recalls how Patrick, 33, proposed on their six-year anniversary at Sydney's Shangri-La Hotel. "I even said to him, 'You're not going to propose are you?' That must have really thrown him!" says the editor and producer of i-do.com.au, a wedding website. "He booked me in for a massage and about three quarters through, the masseuse left and when they returned, the massage didn't seem quite as professional. I looked up and there was Patrick, the most nervous I'd ever seen him. He proposed there and then. All I could do was break into fits of laughter. I don't think I said yes until our wedding day!"

Indian Summer

Well-versed in all things wedding due to her work, Lisa knew she wanted to create a theme with a difference incorporating colour, smells, sounds and sights from India. "A lot of effort was put into making it special. We wanted to create a sensory experience," she says. "The boys arrived on camels and I made my entrance in a traditional wooden doli. The incredible guys from Nishana created the most beautiful Indian ceremony setting."

Mirror, Mirror

The bride's Culture Shock dress was made with the theme in mind. "I wanted Indian inspiration with Rajasthani mirrors, vintage sari material and various other shiny things," Lisa says. Bridesmaids wore gowns by Bondi label Grain (0405 026 323).

Dancing Queen

"My bridesmaids and I got the dancing happening with an impromptu Bollywood dance to 'A Marriage Has Come to Town' from the 'Bride and Prejudice' soundtrack," says Lisa.
