'La Panthère' was in fact the nickname of Jeanne Toussaint who became director of jewellery for the brand in 1933, after heading up the accessories department. It was in 1948, after The Duchess of Windsor commissioned a golden panther perched above an emerald, that the animal became a symbol for the brand.

The three and a half minute film, directed by Bruno Aveillan, is exquisitely shot, with no expenses spared. The panther travels from St. Petersburg, to China and India.  It concludes as the panther arrives in Paris at the Grand Palais on the famous Place Vendôme, where he is met by supermodel Shalom Harlow.
