Your stationery sets the tone of the day. Flame Invitations Creative Director Clazena Squire gives you an insight into the latest trends.

Latest Trends

"There is a shift towards more classic, elegant invitations - away from the layers and embellishments," says Flame Invitations Creative Director Clazena Squire.

Above all, the emphasis is on design quality and individuality - fabulous fonts and stationery that reflects the bride and groom's personality.

With a change of season, comes a change in style and bride's are being inspired by natural elements and colours. According to Clazena "leaves, flowers and blossoms work with a natural colour palette of chocolate browns, rust reds and dark greens." Modern monograms and entwined initials of the bride and groom are also making a comeback.

When choosing your stationery style, why not tie it in with your overall wedding theme. Invitations are a great way to give guests a sneak peek before the big day, so use colours or fonts that are in harmony with other elements of your ceremony and reception.

Have you organised a special surprise for your guests, like releasing butterflies or white doves? In this case, Clazena suggests keeping invites neutral and simple to ensure the big reveal is kept a secret.
