Karen Willis Holmes founded her bridal couture company in Sydney in 2000. It reflects her life long love of fashion and in particular the 18th and 19th Century’s and the 1940s and 50s. As a result, Karen’s designs celebrate historic romance, sensuality and the spirit of the modern young woman - all with a twist.
The Karen Willis Holmes collection is positioned at the highest end of the luxury market, providing a stylish, modern alternative to the traditional bride.
In 2004, Karen was inspired to create a ready-to-wear collection. This made her gowns more accessible to clients that require a more innovative couture look, with the ease and price of a ready-to-wear gown.
The ready-to-wear client appeal is high. It is driven by a modern high fashion design ethic, a fabulous fit and finish, couture-like quality and a high level of customer service.
The company employs 19 staff in their own workrooms, and manufactures all of the Karen Willis Holmes gowns in Australia. This allows us to provide a hands-on and personal approach. We have a commitment to detail, and only use the highest of quality imported fabrics from around the world.
Karen Willis Holmes' Paddington store in Sydney was opened in September 2004, and has proved so successful; Karen opened her Melbourne store in Armadale in February 2006.
