Classic, unique and personalised are three words that Bride to Be readers often use to describe the style of their ultimate dream wedding. Well it's time to add a new buzzword to the list, and that's 'heartfelt'.
More and more, engaged couples are expressing a desire to create a wedding day full of touches and moments that truly are straight from the heart. It's an ingredient that I believe elevates any wedding celebration from simply being a lovely day to one that's an unforgettable, heart-swelling experience for all. In keeping with this trend, we bring you a how-to of 'Heartfelt Weddings' on page 254 including original ideas from real couples like Jen and Jeff, who inspired us by creating a day they described as 'casually intimate with an honest and personal twist on everything.'
Like all of us, marrying couples have a strong desire to spend less and get more. The problem is, we often only realise that the budget is dangerously bloated when we are nearing the end of our wedding planning journey. It's never too late to save, I say, and in our feature 'How to Slice Your Reception Bill' on page 251 we give you the low down on how to beg, borrow and steal your way out of the red at the last minute.
Finally, we begin 2010 by bringing you the hot list of key trends that we see dominating weddings in the coming year - fashion directions that will light up many an aisle and beauty looks you're going to love recreating. Turn to page 57 for the full Trend Report and see what some of your favourite fashion designers, such as Collette Dinnigan, Vera Wang, Oscar de la Renta and Monique Lhuillier, are predicting will be big in bridal.
I love sharing the excitement and glamour of readers' wedding days, so feel free to send me your photos once you've said 'I do'!
